Monday Motivation June 20, 2011 Don't let the People Who Are Important To Us Die Before We Say "Thank You" |

Last week I went to a funeral of someone whose friendship I value
very much.He has made a great difference to my professional life and had
become a personal friend whom I loved meeting up with. The greatest
grief I am left with, however, is that I had not seen him for about 2
years before he died fairly suddenly. How could that happen? How could I let 2 years go by without connecting up with someone who was so important to me and whose friendship I valued so much? I'm usually so good at staying in touch with people. My only excuse - I didn't realise that 2 years had passed. Life has been so busy. I had actually thought of him often and reminded myself we must get together - but I didn't get around to it. I'm sure most of you reading this can identify with what I am saying. We are so busy with what we think is so important, that we forget what is most valuable in our lives. Get Motivated This Week - as I am - To Do Something About This! Personal - Think of a personal friend whose friendship you really value and make contact with them this week and let them know how important they are to you. Professional - Think of someone who has made a significant contribution to your career and make contact with them. Let them know how much you valued their contribution to your professional development.
