Special International Women's Day  Newsletter...........................March 8, 2011.

Happy International Women's Day to all the women and men who read my newsletter.

I wanted to share with you all my blog post for this morning - Women are Good for Business. To have the majority of our  businesses being run by one half of the population means there is an enormous amount of potential out there being wasted.

If we look at the top 200 companies on the Australian Stock Exchange we find that the CEO is a woman in just 3% of them. If we look at their Boards, only 9.5% of Board members are women. We have a long way to go.

What is becoming apparent, however, is that this is no longer a women's issue. There are many, many very talented women  out there who have the experience and expertise to do the job. They are doing a great deal to try and break through the glass ceilings that are preventing their advancement. They are just not making it.

It is imperative that those who have reached the top especially do that. As Madeleine Albright reminded us: "There's a special place in hell for women who don't help other women."

What is needed, however, is a change of attitude by men who run our organisations and a move by them towards their active engagement with their women employees' leadership potential if change is to happen.

So read on and find out some suggestions for what men can do to facilitate this process.

What is becoming apparent is that if anything is going to significantly change to see the leadership opportunities for women increase, we have to engage men in the change process. This is not a women’s issue. This is a gender issue.

So What Can Men Do? How Can They Engage With Women In Bringing About Change?

13 actions men in leadership positions in our organisations can take to advance womens' path into those same leadership positions.

How To Change The Unbelievers!

The believers are already doing these things. Find out what needs to be done about the unbelievers.
